Telling my son he is dying - Please Help!!!?
Hello.. A few months ago my son,found out he had Melanoma which is a cancer of the skin. He is only 15
years old. The other day we went to the doctor for a check up following the completion of chemotherapy. The doctor called my husband and i out to the hall and told us that my baby is not going to make it. He estimated his time at about 5 months (about Christmastime). We were both shocked as we thought was improving. When we went back into the room I was crying and Evan knew something was up. I told him that the doctor didn't say anything too important. We have always been honest with our son about this up till that point. We told his older brother to be extra nice to him. How should i break this news to my baby? The doctor said it will most likely be an extremely painful death. He recommended talking to a hospice but i don't know if I want my baby to die somewhere like that. What should i do to help my 15 year-old son understand what is going to happen? How do your baby he is going to pass away? Please help. Thank you.
