Dear Class;

Some of your classmates have persuaded me to POSTPONE the due date for your Sayyid Qutb papers to APRIL 6. This means you will have an extra weekend to work on your papers.

This also means that next week - on Sunday and Tuesday - we will be discussing Mawdudi ONLY. On Sunday (3/30), we will discuss pages 53-60 of Mawdudi, and on Tuesday (4/1), we'll discuss the remaining pages (285-303). Alanood: You will present on Mawdudi on Sunday; in your analysis of the text, you should include the entire text, not just pages 53-60. Furthermore, I will be picking someone to do a summarizing quote!

We will discuss Qutb on 4/6, when you will turn in your papers. I will not accept any late papers.

Because I am giving you an extra weekend to finish your papers, I expect excellent papers. PLEASE DO NOT CONSULT ANY OUTSIDE SOURCES, INCLUDING THE INTERNET, TO WRITE YOUR PAPER. This is strictly based on your own analysis, your own individual ideas, and your insightful interpretations of this very controversial text.
