I wonder....IS there any Place in this Lovely Cofe for a hard working Translator"....Or it is just limited to Teachers....I hope you would allocate just one table for a translator ...Of course one table with many seats for may be there will be others who would like to join this poor Translator in her solitude"...I would so much appreciate your effort if you could afford this table

It' a Teachers 'cafe..
but,
Both of the two cafes are not faaar from each other so, any teacher or student can visit and sit on each other table
!!
Of course you can join us here dear, banaba!!

ok now if you allow me I would like to share what I

think about class management with you ladies..

first of all ..

I think it depends on the age of the students..

if you are teaching 4th graders your way doesn't

apply to high school students or college students..

so .. the audience is a very important factor..

now i will read the article greeno provided us with..

and write my comments.. if I had any...

... reading...

first of all.. seating arrangements.. it is important

indeed but the problem arises when it is not up to

the teacher to seat the students..

for example. . if their seats were assigned ahead by

a supervisor or something .. or if seating procedure

differs every time like for example in universities and

colleges.. students just sit anywhere in the classroom

mmmm what else..

I read this amazing sentence:

too much explanation can be sometimes too preachy

that's true.. but sometimes teachers try hard

to make sure all students get the point hhhhh

there must be a balance indeed..


Don't Forget Discipline

that is correct.. but again.. in my opinion..

it depends on the students.. if they are kids..

discipline must be obtained but through different

strategies.. for example .. kids are usually

very active .. I am sure you agree :tongue:

so...
i think it is important to

keep the children busy all the time to make sure

you are in control.. by giving a lot of activities..

different kinds and interesting ones..

if, for example, you feel that the exercises in the book

are not soo interesting you can give them one

exercise and then give an exercise you prepared

and know it will attract students' attention and

interest.. then get back to the book exercises..

to break the monotony..


as to discipline with older students.. like college students..
a teacher needs to clearly clarify her

way and rules right from the beginning ..and

after that students will make sure they don't break

any rules so that they won't be considered absent or

lose marks..

while with elementary school students usually

it goes differently. . a bit..

if the students give the teacher a hard time..

rewards .. gifts .. and chocolate usually work like magic


it is a very good idea to bring a basket full of

chocolate (not expensive ones just cute ones)


and small hair clips


and colourful note books.. ( again .. not expensive ones )


Gel pens.. the ones that smell like fruit :P


mmm lollipops..


it is actually the little things that attract kids..

and make them work harder to win them ..

it would be a very intersting thing if the teacher

while explaining the lesson .. of course she needs

to ask questions.. so ..

she says..

candy question.. and asks a question ..
and the girl who answers it gets a candy of her choice from the basket..


and later on.. the teacher says.. gift question..

using this strategy .. students will pay attention

and try to listen carefully in order to answer the question and win something :)

..

older students... mmm I think it would be nice

if while explaining the lesson the teacher gives

examples of life or asks if someone has an example

or to mention a funny event or something like that

so that the girls would stay awake lool ..

Another option is to stop the class and use body language such as eye contact. Sometimes eye contact is a very effective nonverbal way to regain class control. When you eye that one disruptive student, she or he will come to realize that he or she is the reason why you stopped the lesson. This will give the rest of the class a message of your expectations for a simple classroom procedure. They should be attentive when you are explaining!
