Always wear seat belts.
Children should ride in the back seat with seat belts on and/or in a child safety seat.
Drive defensively,
Use horn when needed seriously to get pedestrians' attention.
Use horn and lights when needed, to get the attention of other drivers.
Pay attention when other drivers use their horns.
Check all mirrors and use directional signals for lane changes.
Check right side mirror in particular.
Confirm with direct visual check. Do not rely solely on mirrors.
Use four-way flashers to warn drivers behind of slowed/blocked traffic to avoid being hit from behind.
Expect the unexpected.
Watch out for trucks and buses that take the right-of-way without signaling, whether they are entitled to it or not.
Make sure your lights, signals, horn and brakes are in proper order.

Safety tips for children

Children under the age of 8 years should always be supervised by an adult when exposed to traffic.
Due to their physical and cerebral limitations, younger children cannot safely deal with traffic as pedestrians
Children should not play in the road.
All children should be buckled up in motor vehicles for every trip short or long. Car seats or seat belts should be correctly selected, installed and used to ensure adequate safety. It is not safe to travel at any speed with an unrestrained child.
Cyclist should wear helmets at all time.
