Sorry for being late, toota. Here I am and as I told you before I will correct your topic first then explain the lesson.z
I wanna understand ( a ) lesson
I (usually face) problems
it (doesn't) let me get the full mark
I always (lose a few marks)z
I wish to (overcome) the difficulty
When (do) we use adverbs and when (do) we use adjectives?z
Adverbs always (come) after verbs and adjectives always (come before) nouns
In sentence number "2", (already) is the adverb, not (were solved), which you typed in red by mistake
That's it for the correction and I will start the explanation right

Adverbs & Adjectives
[ALIGN=JUSTIFY]An adverb is a word that describes (or modifies) a verb or an adjective. When it modifies the verb, it follows it. But if the verb consists of two parts (a helping verb + a main verb), it comes between the two parts. If the adverb modifies an adjective, it comes before it.z
[ALIGN=JUSTIFY]الظرف أو الحال هو كلمة تصف فعل أو صف. عندما يصف الفعل يتبعه. و إذا كان الفعل يتكون من جزءين (فعل مساعد و فعل أساسي) يستخدم بينهما. أما إذا كان يصف الصفة، يأتي قبلها.
[ALIGN=LEFT]Examples:z
1- I ran quickly to catch the bus.z
جريت بسرعة لكي ألحق الأتوبيس (يصف الفعل)
2- He has already studied the lesson.z
لقد ذاكر الدرس بالفعل. (يصف الفعل المكون من جزءين)
3- It is terribly cold.z
الجو بارد للغاية. (يصف صفة)
[ALIGN=JUSTIFY]An adjective describes (modifies) the noun and it comes before it or after verb to be.z
الصفة تصف الاسم و تأتي قبله أو بعد verb to be فعل الكينونة في اللغة الإنجليزية.
[ALIGN=LEFT]Examples: z
1- This is a rare jewel.z
هذه جوهرة نادرة. (تصف الاسم)
2- He is tall.z
إنه طويل. (جاءت بعد فعل الكينونة)

How to form the adverb??z
[ALIGN=LEFT]We form the adverb by adding -ly to the adjective.z
[ALIGN=LEFT]Example:z
cold = coldly
bad = badly
Adjectives ending in -y, we omit the -y and add ily.z
Example:z
happy = happily
easy = easily
Adjectives ending in a consonant + -le, we omit the -e and add -y.z
Example:z
terrible = terribly
possible = possibly
[ALIGN=LEFT]Adjectives ending in -e, we keep the -e and add -ly:z
[ALIGN=LEFT]extreme = extremely
[ALIGN=LEFT]Exceptions: [ALIGN=LEFT]true = truly, whole = wholly
Irregular Adverbs:z
good = well
fast = fast
high = high
[ALIGN=LEFT]last = last
[ALIGN=LEFT]early = early
enough = enough
far = far
hard = hard
ill = ill
late = late
long = long
low = low

Dear toota
[ALIGN=JUSTIFY]You cannot know the adjective by looking for the -tive, or -able because there are so many adjectives that contain no special endings such as: cold, slow, strange, huge, big, sweet. Of course there are lots of other adjectives that contain special endings such as: -ous, -ant, -ent, -le, -tive but as I told you this is not a fixed rule. So, the only solution is that you have to increase your vocabulry and you have to check what part of speech each word is: a verb, a noun, an adverb, an adjective or a preposition. This will make it easy for you later because your mind will register each word in its own box.z
[ALIGN=JUSTIFY]
I hope that I was able to help you, my dear, and I am still here for you if you need any help.z
Best Wishes
Amal
